Dakota Mortensen’s alleged lip tattoo for Taylor Frankie Paul’s initials sparks controversy amid ‘Bachelorette’ fallout

Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, are caught up in a mess that’s only getting messier. Just when things seemed bad enough, a wild detail came out that claims Mortensen apparently got Taylor’s initials tattooed inside his lip. And it happened just hours after Taylor posted a Valentine’s Day promo for her season of ‘The Bachelorette’, which, by the way, isn’t even happening anymore. At first, one might think it’s just a dramatic gesture from an ex who can’t let go. But now, with all the allegations flying (abuse, legal fights, reality TV chaos), it’s starting to look a lot darker. That tattoo isn’t just about love or heartbreak; it’s part of a bigger story about control and obsession.

Dakota Mortensen’s tattoo incident: What happened?

Per People’s report, Taylor says Dakota started acting “possessive” as her ‘Bachelorette’ premiere got closer. According to court filings, on February 14, 2026, Dakota got “TFP” (Taylor’s initials) tattooed inside his lip. Now, the timing’s suspicious: it happened right after Taylor’s Valentine’s Day promo went up. Taylor claims she saw pictures of the tattoo, and Dakota even admitted to it in texts. She said it freaked her out, especially since they weren’t together anymore. It felt like another piece in a pattern of “possessive and erratic behavior.”People who were around say Dakota didn’t keep it quiet, either. He showed off the tattoo to others, even on camera, making the whole thing more of a spectacle. And then, things escalated fast.On April 7, Taylor filed for a protective order against Dakota, accusing him of “abusive conduct and coercive control” during their relationship. Dakota had already filed for his own protective order against Taylor back in March. At an April hearing, the judge granted Dakota custody of their son, Ever, with Taylor allowed supervised visits, up to eight hours a week, until the next hearing at the end of April. In her April filing, Taylor described Dakota as getting “increasingly possessive” as her show’s premiere approached. She shared texts from Dakota sent on February 16 and 17, after filming wrapped but before the show was supposed to air. The messages? Stuff like “I want you forever,” “I still love and want you,” and “give me a chance.” She also said that’s when she saw the lip tattoo, confirmed by Dakota in another text.Taylor summed it up in her filing: “Considering his increasingly possessive and erratic behavior, and considering the fact that we were not in a relationship, this was extremely alarming. My initials are now permanently tattooed on the body of a man who has been abusive toward and possessive of me.”The report further added that Dakota got the tattoo just hours after Taylor’s promo went live, and he showed it off to the cast of Mormon Wives and on camera while filming. Taylor’s filing includes images of the tattoo, labeled “TFP,” but nobody knows exactly when those photos were taken.
