INET 2026 applications end as Indian Navy Agniveer SSR MR process advances

Indian Navy Agniveer recruitment 2026: The Indian Navy’s recruitment drive for Agniveer SSR, Agniveer MR and SSR (Medical) posts for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches concludes today, April 6, 2026. Online applications, which opened on March 14, 2026, are being accepted through the official portal.The recruitment process covers multiple sailor roles, with both male and female candidates eligible for Agniveer SSR and MR posts. However, SSR (Medical) positions are restricted to unmarried male candidates. Selection will be conducted through the INET 2026 examination followed by subsequent stages.Application timeline and key eventsThe notification for the recruitment was issued on March 10, 2026. Candidates have been given a limited application window ending April 6, 2026. A correction window will be available from April 10 to April 11, 2026 for submitted forms.The INET 2026 examination is scheduled for May 2026, with results expected between May and June 2026. The application fee is set at Rs. 550 for all categories, including General, OBC, EWS, SC and ST, payable through online modes.Eligibility criteria and educational requirementsAge criteria vary across batches. For Agniveer 01/2027, candidates must be born between December 1, 2004 and May 31, 2009. For Agniveer 02/2027 and SSR (Medical) 02/2027, the birth range is May 1, 2005 to October 31, 2009.Educational qualifications differ by post. Agniveer MR applicants must have passed Class 10 with at least 50 per cent marks. Agniveer SSR candidates require Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics or a three-year diploma with 50 per cent marks. SSR (Medical) candidates must have Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, securing 50 per cent marks.Selection stages and examination patternThe selection process begins with the INET 2026 computer-based test, followed by the Physical Fitness Test, Stage-II written examination, document verification and medical examination.The Agniveer SSR and SSR (Medical) exams will include 100 questions covering English, Science and General Awareness, with additional Mathematics or Biology sections. The duration is one hour with a negative marking of 0.25.
